What an adventure!

Hi everyone, Waffle here! I have had such an exciting time this past week and my foster mom says that telling everyone about it here on my blog can help me find a forever family of my own, so here goes...  It had been a couple of months since I had been racing so I was starting to wonder what was going on when finally I got loaded into the hauler truck and thought boy, is it about time to give these fast feet a workout! But that truck just went and went and just when I thought we must be lost we stopped and got out.
Here I am meeting Miss Karen, she and some other volunteers from GEGR were there waiting for us. They let us walk around and take care of some things that everyone needs to take care of after a really long ride in the haul truck!

After handling business there I got a much more comfortable ride with just one other dog, we weren't in little apartments with straw this time-- we got to stretch out and lay on blankets, it was greyt! After having a nice spa day at greyhound central I got back in the car with just my new foster mom and her teenage two-legger. We had a really long ride to meet the rest of my foster family but I was so comfy I didn't care I just slept most of the time. Now this is how a girl should travel!

When we got to my new foster home I met the rest of the family-- foster dad, two other greyhounds, and a little dog they call a beagle. I like them all, even the little guy! I have been here with them for a few days now and there has been a lot to learn but I'm catching on quick. Foster mom says I should tell you that besides being an awesome passenger in the car I already know where to go potty, and that when it's dark and sleepy time I should be quiet and let everyone rest. I also understand the word "no" very well so if I mess up somebody just tells me "no" and I know that I should stop whatever I'm doing.  I have very good house manners though so I don't hear that word very often. The word I do hear a few times a day is "kennel" and I usually remember what that means when I hear it too. I run into my crate and either it's time to eat or have a treat and wait patiently to come back out again. Since my house manners are so good foster mom has taken me out for a couple of "field trips" as she calls them. Here is a picture of me and my foster brother and sister at the farmer's market. (I'm the pretty face on the right!)

There were lots of good smells there and I really wanted to smell them all. I sure hope we get to do that again! Do you have a farmer's market near your house? If you're looking for a pretty girl to go for rides in the car and walks around the farmer's market...or the park...or the beach... or the hardware store... or anywhere really, I'm your girl!! Just fill out that adoption application and tell the people at GEGR that you would like to walk with Waffle!
